"Medea"
by Euripides

Oak Park and River Forest High School
Fine and Applied Arts Division
April 4, 5, 6, and 7th, 2008

review by Ed Vincent

Ancient Corinth in Greece never looked so good in display
or lighting, as it did in this wonderful production put on by
the local kids at the High School.  This was a wonderful
performance and the actresses and actors were on their mark
in all their work.

The show was a bargain at the price of $8.00 a person and
hopefully shows of this quality will continue and draw
patrons from all over the area--
the work is that good.

The writings from thousands of years ago could and does play
well with today's drama of life.  Hate, revenge and love seem to
remained unchanged in their plot or drive.  Jason, played by
Seth Klapman (
Medea's ex-husband) rationalizes his leaving
her with the desire for more power and prestige in claiming;
" A poor man has no friends or influence."

His adventures into adultery will have results
unthinkable.

A powerful work that should get full acting scholarships for
the entire cast and crew, keep up the good work.
