| Local Artist’s Work on Display
at Oak Park Hospital
Oak Park Area Arts Council has continued
its partnership with Oak Park Hospital in displaying local artists’ work
in the lobby of the hospital.
The featured artist for March and
April 2003 is Nancy Fong; she will display florals and beach scenes in
watercolor, acrylic and oil on paper. Ms. Fong attended the University
of Illinois at Chicago as a James Scholar. She is a teacher at Morton
College and at the Senior Citizens’ Center of Oak Park and River Forest.
For the past three years, Ms. Fong taught art classes for the Cultural
Arts Workshop Program for the Park District of Oak Park, and will be teaching
again this summer. Ms. Fong is an artist member of the
Oak Park Art League and a member of their Board of Directors.
The Oak Park Area Arts Council has
worked to bring exposure to area artists for many years. In addition
to the exhibit at Oak Park Hospital, the Arts Council also sponsors exhibits
at Forest Park National Bank and Oak Park Village Hall.
Founded in 1906, Oak Park Hospital
is sponsored by the Wheaton Franciscan Sister and is guided by their philosophy
of human and community development. As a member of the Rush System
for Health, Oak Park Hospital is linked to the resources of Rush-Presbyterian-St.
Luke’s Medical Center, a national leader in medical teaching and research.
Oak Park Hospital is conveniently
located near the intersection of Harlem Avenue and Madison Street in Oak
Park. Free parking is available for patients and visitors.
