| Poetry Festival Scheduled
for National Poetry Month
This year during the month of April,
the Oak Park Area Arts Council is working with the Village of Oak Park’s
Public Art Advisory Commission to present a unique public art project…a
poetry festival. Poems from young poets from D/ 97 Oak Park schools,
D/91 Forest Park schools, D/200 Oak Park & River Forest High School
and also poems from River Oak Arts, a literary organization, will be stenciled
onto the sidewalks throughout the tri-village area of Oak Park, Forest
Park and River Forest. Look for the poems to “bloom” in Downtown
Oak Park, the Avenue-Lake area, South Oak Park Avenue, Chicago Avenue,
Harrison Street, Madison Street in Forest Park and the River Forest Town
Square.

District 97 students – Zoe Hilbert, Harry
Huggins, Keisha Helm, Jeremy Roby and Sophia Stith; District 91 students
– Tony Casella, Marianne Fabbrini, Michael Huttner, Adriel Lopez, Jamie
Raisor-Quick and Paris Skinner; District 200 students – Zachary Heath,
Jr., Kathryn Kleeman, Adrian LeCesne, Itohan Osaigbovo and Abby Van Deusen;
River Oak Arts members – Albert DeGenova, Larry Janowski, Patricia McMillen,
Jill Pelaez Baumgaertner and Cynthia Todd Quam.
